Community Health Days

Community Health Day Patient Receiving Care

Community Health Days are quarterly events held to aid the uninsured and underserved immigrant community of Philadelphia. The Garces Dental group opens its doors on four Saturdays a year offering free dental and medical care to all immigrants. With the help of generous dental, medical, and administrative volunteers, we provide comprehensive oral exams, x-rays, cleanings, and fillings as well as cholesterol and glucose screenings, physicals, breast cancer health education, and HIV screenings.

Dental patients are scheduled for follow up appointments at the Garces Dental Group’s community Fridays where they receive discounts on services rendered. Medical patients are encouraged to seek regular care at Puentes de Salud where clinics are offered on a sliding pay scale. Every patient leaves Community Health Day with educational pamphlets, flyers, and booklets that cover dental, medical and nutritional topics. Our goal is to inform patients about their current health status and to connect these individuals with additional healthcare providers for follow-up.

Additionally, we invite other community organizations to provide and inform our patients of resources available to them.

To find out how you can get involved as a volunteer, patient, or community organization, fill out the form here. If you have any additional questions, email Garces Foundation!
